When fully ripe, they exhibit a reddish-dark to nearly black hue and contain a small pit. The fruit has a semi-dry texture, and its thick skin adheres closely to the flesh, distinguishing it as one of the premium date varieties.
Kabkab Dates are classified as soft dates, known for their tender and somewhat chewy texture. This quality makes them a favored choice for snacking and dessert applications. Kabkab Dates are celebrated for their delightful sweetness and rich flavor profile, characterized by sweet caramel notes complemented by subtle hints of honey. Their Rutab stage is particularly delicious, earning them the moniker “honey dates.” Notably, Kabkab dates possess a slightly astringent taste when unripe, in the kharak stage, setting them apart from other date varieties.
